Return From Involuntary Haiatus
Well, it has been far too long since I was comfortably seated behind this desk, writing periodic updates to the site. I suppose that one could classify this post as still fitting the “periodic” tag, though somewhat extended in definition. Suffice to say that it is good to be writing a short blurb once again, and I thought it only fitting to write regarding the past several weeks of absence.
Seldom is absence by choice, and this is no exception to that rule. Work began getting a bit hectic, causing me to lack the time needed to play with some of my AS3 projects, and then I had a 2 week business trip. During the second week of my trip, my wife’s grandfather passed away, so I returned home for a single night before heading out once again – this time towards Alberta, CA. Our family spent the next week traveling through BC and AB, attending his funeral and visiting with family before finally arriving back home. That arrival was a mere two days ago.
Now, our big challenge is finding a new home house by the first of the month. Our lease is up, and we want to move down closer to church and friends this time – something about a 45 minute drive one way 3-4 times per week gets draining. On that note, do you have any idea how difficult it is to find a house that allows pets (a dog and a cat, mind you), has at least three bedrooms plus space for a home office (since I work from home), and fits into a budget? It’s definitely not the easiest task with which I’ve been assigned. So, if anyone local finds a good place for a reasonable price, be sure to let me know!
In the meantime, I will hopefully be able to find a few minutes here or there to work on some fun stuff. Between work and freelancing, though, it’s not looking promising for a bit. Although, I can’t complain too much, though: working on fantasy football custom scoring systems is definitely its own style of fun. To help pass the time, check out my photography section for some of my newest shots I have posted. Perhaps that will help to bide the time until I can find something more technical to post about.
