In my nearly five years working with The Walt Disney Company, I have worked with many technologists within ESPN, but I had not had the opportunity to visit the campus in Bristol, CT until this past week. Due to some internal restructuring, I get to work much more closely with one of the architectural groups that has primarily been ESPN focused.
With the new management and structure, I was invited up to Bristol to visit the campus and meet several different teams face-to-face. It was definitely a cool experience, and while I wasn’t able to get my scheduled tour lined up this trip, I will be looking forward to a more immersive visit next time. The campus is beautiful, and though winter is not my choice time of year to visit New England, we still managed to get around to some of the different areas.
After spending a week at the office, I can definitely say that I’m quite impressed by the team: both management and engineers, and I am looking forward to seeing what we’re able to accomplish in the months to come. I will be looking forward to my next trip, and I’ll keep my fingers crossed that I can get that coveted picture behind the Sports Center desk!
